After twenty years in corporate America, Jessica Miller thought entrepreneurship was for a “special kind of person,” – someone born with extra smarts or secret knowledge. But when her job relocated overseas following a health crisis and the birth of her child, she made a life changing decision. Jessica took a severance package and built her own business from scratch. What started as a coaching practice focused on money mindset evolved into something much bigger. She began helping successful, capable women uncover why their businesses weren’t as profitable as they could be, and how to fix that by optimizing their offers, not overworking themselves. Today, Jessica teaches women how to create “Hell Yes” offers, identify profit leaks hidden in their business, and grow with clarity, joy and ease with her company Jessica Miller Coaching.
We were lucky enough to get to speak with Jessica and uncover what she’s learned about where women are putting their energy that isn’t serving them and how to redirect toward growth that feels aligned, profitable, and powerful.
Women are natural high- achievers. We pride ourselves on multitasking, saying yes, and doing it all. But as Jessica points out, “There’s something noble about hard work- we just don’t want people working hard on the wrong things.” Here are some of the biggest energy traps Jessica has seen women fall into:
1) Chasing More Clients Instead of Better Systems
Many women believe that more customers automatically mean more money. But if your backend systems aren’t ready, 10,000 new clients would bring chaos, not profit. Instead focusing on endless lead generation, Jessica encourages women to look inward- toward warm audiences and hidden revenue sitting in their business.
2) Falling Prey to Shiny Object Syndrome
Constantly launching new things, starting from scratch, or reinventing your offer feels like progress- but it’s likely keeping you in a cycle of stagnation. We think this is how we grow but it’s actually counterproductive. Instead, focusing on optimization and doubling down on what already works and making it better is what will lead to those results you’re looking for.
3) Saying Yes Too Often
As women, we’re conditioned to overcommit. To every opportunity, every collaboration, every client. But true success is found in subtraction. The more you say no to, the more you are actually saying yes to the right things!
Growth doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from focusing on the right things. Jessica’s approach centers on simplicity, data, and focus- not on hustle and overwhelm. Jessica shared her insight into building an effective growth strategy and no, it did not involve doing more…
1) Quality over Quantity
Replace doing more with doing it better. Potency and precision matter more than volume.
2) Find and Fix the Leaks
Every business has them. Whether it’s with lead generation, client retention, or pricing, every business had leaks. The key to plugging up those leaks? Look across your business for gaps and “hidden money.” Sometimes that means optimizing a sales page, improving a client journey, or bundling offers to increase order value. It’s about finding your best opportunity on where to get your biggest return on investment hyper focus on them to slow down to speed up. It’s in that moment that you realize you can do one thing right now and then move on to the next best thing and do that later. You don’t have to do it all at once.
3) Work in Focused Sprints
When Jessica works with her clients she uses a 90-day plan that tackles one key improvement over time. Sometimes you have to slow down to speed up. After that 90 days go by, debrief, refine, and build on what worked. This keeps Progress measurable and meaningful.
Of course, at the heart of any business success is having a “hell yes” offer. So what makes up a “hell yes” offer? Jessica shared 3 main components with us.
1) It starts with your own “hell yes” energy: Instead of asking what will sell, ask yourself what lights you up. Build around that and find people who say “hell yes” too.
2) It solves a clear specific problem: Your offer should speak directly to your ideal client and deliver exactly what they want in a powerful, compelling way.
3) It’s priced and positioned with confidence: Your clients can feel when something is out of alignment. When your pricing, value, and energy match, it creates instant resonance. When you have all three it becomes magnetic. Your offer sells itself before you even say a word!
For Jessica intuition isn’t a luxury- it’s a guiding light for your business. Your body is a compass and every single person has a reaction when they’re in alignment with something. The secret is to notice it, honor it, and follow it. Yet, it’s too often the case that women dismiss intuition because it doesn’t feel practical. We’ve been taught to value spreadsheets over sensations. But intuition and data aren’t opposites, they’re partners. Jessica encourages women to treat intuition as just as valuable as analytics. Intuitive hits are fun and joyful and as adults we forget how to have fun and when that feeling does come up, it feels foreign and risky and we feel like we need to be practical and professional. But that feeling of fun and excitement may actually be the key to creating more success in your business without adding to your workload. So how can you merge intuition and business? Here are 3 easy ways:
When you honor that internal compass, your work becomes more magnetic, efficient, and sustainable.
Jessica’s mission is simple: help women grow their businesses in a way that feels good! Time, energy, and money are our three greatest resources-and when we pour them into the right places, everything shifts. It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing what matters most- joyfully, powerfully, and with “Hell Yes” confidence. Every woman in business carries both ambition and intuition- the drive to build something meaningful and the inner knowing that guides her there. The real magic happens when you let both lead. So here’s your reminder: do less, but do it better. Say no more often so your yes means something. And always follow what feels like a “hell yes.”
Because when women lead with that kind of energy- the world doesn’t just notice. It changes.
