Now I teach entrepreneurs how to be successful on that platform as well. I am also in the process of developing a coaching program, similar to my PATH program, but for service professionals instead. Keep you posted!
What makes you different/stand out in your industry? What sets me apart is first that I am both a Certified Professional Resume Writer as well as a Certified Career Coach who provides very clear and direct guidance to help people get from point A to point B in their career or business. I also offer 10 years of experience in the HR/Talent Acquisition Field and ten years of experience as a freelance resume writer. I have experience as an employee, job seeker, and entrepreneur and therefore, am able to put myself in the shoes of my clients. My approach to achieving job search or business-related goals is knowing that the foundation is always mindset specifically ensuring that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors align to our final destination.
What do your clients love about you? My clients love me because I am someone who is clear and direct yet very warm and approachable. There really is no ambiguity with me. I believe that this is something many of us yearn for. It is not that we are incapable, be we often need specific and action-oriented guidance to help us achieve our goals. I am that person for my clients. I can tell them why something isn’t working, clarify misconceptions, and identify blind spots or opportunities they did not see before. I am also very real and authentic which helps my clients feel comfortable being themselves. Working with me is a judgment-free zone and much of what my clients experience are things I have gone through myself. They also love me because I am a true partner. It’s not that I do all the work for them. That is not the role of a coach. But I do my part, show up, and deliver for them consistently.
What is the best advice you can share with others?
Advice to job seekers: Don’t make assumptions unless you have true hard evidence or data. For example, don’t assume someone wouldn’t hire you because you are too old, too young, too inexperienced, etc. What matters most is that you are relevant to today’s job market and if you are not, you can always develop into being a highly marketable candidate based on your mindset and actions.
Advice to entrepreneurs: For those starting out, ensure that you know the problem you solve in the marketplace as well as your ideal client or clients. Products and services only sell if they truly solve a problem for people. Give yourself time to learn, develop, evolve etc. Entrepreneurship is not a race, rather it is a journey that never ends. Also, if you are specifically a service professional and not actively promoting on LinkedIn or taking advantage of their amazing features, you are missing out on serious $. Contact me to schedule your one-on-one LinkedIn training or keep your eyes out for my group masterclasses
And to all: From my favorite personal development mentor, Jim Rohn, “Success is not to be pursued, it is to be attracted by the person you become”.
How has the Women’s Business League helped you? The WBL has connected me to amazing, like-minded women who I have been able to learn from, become friends with, and also serve as clients. I appreciate all of their services and events and look forward to attending more in the future. Amy and Melissa are cheerleaders for us all and are truly invested in our success. Amy and Melissa also gave me the opportunity to facilitate a Lunch and Learn on Linkedin which will help me in the future to attract similar training opportunities. I will be forever grateful to them.
