Tell us about YOU!!  I’m Melissa Pond, founder of Melissa J Pond LLC. I help mission-driven small businesses and nonprofits grow through grant strategy, leadership development, and marketing support—including grant writing, training, and branded Canva assets.

What makes you different/stand out in your industry?  I combine 15+ years of public sector experience with a creative, relationship-driven approach that goes beyond just grant writing. I help clients align their strategy, storytelling, and visibility—so they’re not just fundable, but unforgettable.

What do your clients love about you?  My clients love that I make complex things feel clear and manageable. They often say I’m a great listener, a strategic thinker, and someone who genuinely cares about their mission. They appreciate that I bring both heart and expertise to every project—and that I help them feel confident and supported every step of the way.

What is the best advice you can share with others? The best advice I can share is this: Clarity creates momentum. Whether you’re chasing funding, growing a business, or leading a team—take time to get clear on your message, your mission, and your next step. You don’t have to do everything at once, but you do have to move with intention.

How has the Women’s Business League helped you?  The Women’s Business League has opened the door to a room full of genuine connections and aligned opportunities. Collaboration is at the heart of what I do, so being surrounded by women who lead with purpose and uplift one another has been both energizing and deeply aligned with my mission.
