Tell us about YOU!! (Who are you & what do you do?) I’m a Certified Health & Life Coach, and I work with the bosses, the leaders, the career-driven, the caregivers, and the head of household Parents who feel burnt out and stuck amid the high demands of their work and life. I help them reignite their energy, motivation and momentum so they can powerfully propel forward again.
What makes you different/stand out in your industry?
Every coach I know has come to the profession having experienced some sort of hardship or major life event that was the catalyst for changing how they ‘do life.’ Each story is so unique! For me, it was being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 that started the major shift. Up until then, I’d been working very hard in my career as a Physical Therapist/Clinic Manager, taking care of my household and raising 2 kids on my own. I literally WAS the person who I now help – exhausted, burnt out, unfulfilled in career and feeling stuck in a box. I guess I became the coach I wish I had BEFORE my life went off the rails. I often wonder if I’d had the knowledge and the tools to build my resilience to stress in the decade prior to my cancer diagnosis, how might it have made a positive impact? Would my body have been able to overcome its development? The year of cancer treatment and recovery catalyzed a monumental shift in how I relate to myself, my family, and the world, FOR THE BETTER. Knowing first hand the difference between living in a chronically stressed state to being able to allow myself to unapologetically protect my energy for what’s most important, I’m able to bring this wisdom to what I do now as a coach. I can readily see the amazing things that are POSSIBLE for my clients, even when they feel so stuck that they don’t yet recognize it themselves. I believe in celebrating every win, no matter how big or small, because it pulls us FORWARD to our best vision of who we are and who we are meant to be.
What do your clients love about you? I’ve received feedback that I have a soothing voice during sessions, which makes me laugh because I don’t hear myself that way. They also like that I ask them powerful questions that cause them to really think, and they are often surprised and delighted by what they come up with. And I have a pretty good sense of humor! I can be a bit of a smart-ass tease, in a fun-loving way.
What is the best advice you can share with others? Is this a trick question? LOL! As a coach, I don’t give advice. My coaching sessions are client-centered and I don’t regard myself as an expert. Instead, I see my client as the expert on his/her own life. I use paradigms in my coaching, which are beliefs that I hold for my client (and myself!), whether or not they believe it yet. One of my very favorites is this: Everything is possible, and there is ALWAYS a way!
How has the Women’s Business League helped you? WBL has brought me so much positive interaction and community with like-minded women! To know that I have this amazing local group with whom I can share ideas and have mutual support is amazing! With my local chapter, I also feel like I have a whole team that is mine! Any service I need, it’s right here! Very supportive group and I love that. We are generating business for one another with referrals and it only grows as our connection does. I’ve been very happy with WBL as whole as well, and especially during the pandemic, as the founders and chapter leaders continue to create ways for us to connect, and to learn and support one another, in business and in life.
